This whimsical vintage seahorse pendant-brooch is highly three-dimensional and nicely detailed in gleaming 14k white gold, with twenty-four diamond accents delineating the popular sea creature's main contours. The seahorse depiction is charmingly stylized, and the overall effect of the bright white gold luster and the glittering scattering of diamonds is dazzling. In excellent condition, this fine pendant-brooch has a locking pin-back for use as a brooch and a double bail for suspending from a chain. Marked and tests positive for 14k gold, it measures 1 7/16 x 5/8-inches overall and weighs 4.6 grams.
An interesting creature, the seahorse's eyes move independently, allowing them to see forward and backward at the same time. Because of this they are associated with intuition, and the folklore of some cultures believes seahorses can see simultaneously into the past, present and future!
