The rack mountable computer is based on an older but very good quality ASUS P5E WS Professional Workstation mainboard running Windows 10 Pro. We never had issues with the hardware and it held well to the computing crunch imposed by FLStudio loaded with Omnisphere and a bunch of other plugins at a time. We locked its CPU speed to 3GHz in Windows and it did well with projects running sounds real-time at sampling rates of 44.1KHz or 48KHz, depending on the plugin load. The editing work can be easily done on this system with the software set for 44.1kHz sampling rate, while the exports (not being real-time) can go to much higher rates. For someone starting with DAWs/music production software, or keeping it as a hobby, it will make plenty of sense to create smaller projects while focusing on experimenting with new plugins, sound editing techniques, etc.; this bundle will reduce the typical expense related to one's learning curve while retaining the ergonomic benefits of the keyboard, trackball and monitor. It also makes more affordable the future addition of an external audio interface of choice, and remains upgradeable down the road. The workstation is equipped with a good set of external ports, making it ready for  immediate integration even in a larger audio system: 16x USB, 2x Ethernet + 1 external Wifi adapter, 2x FireWire, 2x eSATA, 6x HiDef Audio I/Os, 1x Digital Audio out (SPDIF), 1x Optical Out, 1x 15pin Serial Port, 1 HDMI mini, 2x DVI
Aside from the main ultrawide monitor requiring a 3440x1440 pixel resolution support, the graphics card supports an additional monitor if needed. The HUGE (ELECOM Japan) Wireless Trackball with 8 customizable buttons and palmrest proved to be a winner for longer editing sessions, while the dedicated high quality FL Studio keyboard (aluminum body, backlit, USB host for the trackball receiver piece) did help with the shortcuts.
