• Antique circa 1867-1873 James W Tufts Elephant Head Feet Pickle Castor with Blue Glass Insert.
• Very nice unusual castor. Castor has wear and loss to the silver plated finish as shown. Castor is in excellent condition with no damages. Includes tongs.
• Glass is in excellent condition with No chips, cracks or major damages. I did note 2 small flat nicks to the bottom edge and 2 much smaller flat nicks to the inside of the top rim. Please view all photos. Glass is attributed to Portland Glass Company and is known as the Tree of Life pattern. They only produced glass for a short period of time between 1867-1873. Thanks to a fellow eBay member for the information on the glass piece.
• Glass does have the expected air bubbles and straw lines as made.
• Castor stands approximately 7 1/4 inches tall to the top of the handle. Castor measures 7 1/2 inches wide. Glass insert measures 2 7/8 inches tall from the top. Insert is approximately 4 5/8 inches wide.
• Castor is stamped James W Tufts Boston Warranted Quadruple Plate 2356 on the bottom.

I do ship items overseas and to Canada.  Items will be shipped using eBay global shipping program. Buyer is responsible for any and all import fees or taxes.
I pack each item with great care.  Once item is packaged and shipped, I can not be held responsible for the handling of it by USPS.  Insurance is the handling cost on the invoice/ auction. All items are shipped USPS Priority Mail with Insurance. I will be happy to combine on shipping any time I can.
