    Small certificate with ornate border, vignette at top center of Roman god Vulcan sitting by his forge, and vignettes along left margin of three allegorical figures. Trimmed close to border. Certificate engraved by J. Meignelle, and issued on 20 May 1848 for 10 shares, signed by R.H. Shannon (secretary).
    Vulcan Mining investors hoped that the company would live long and prosper.
